Weekly Recaps

Weekly Recap 4: 22/4/2018 – 28/4/2018

Hey everyone, welcome to the fourth Weekly Recap! Last week’s recap was pretty full with a fair bit of content, and I’m hoping to have that repeat with this week, so without further ado, let’s get into the recap!

Sunday: April 22nd, 2018

So I originally had some plans for Sunday, but they ended up falling through, so instead, I invited my Twitch chat mod RamXE around to my house, and we streamed Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 for the afternoon!

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation (PSVita, PC):

We actually made quite a bit of progress on Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 this afternoon, cleared Chapter 4 and we’re making our way into Chapter 5 now, cleared out quite a few quests, and starting to grind out some of the items I need to make a LOT of the plans that I have yet to make that haven’t been done yet.

The story’s picking up a fair bit as well, with the antagonists starting to make some bold moves. I won’t go too in detail as to avoid spoilers, but I’m looking forward to tackling some more of it in the future!

Monster Hunter: World (PS4/XBone):

Ooh boy, the big Monster Hunter game the world had been asking for, and it was definitely worth the wait.

I switched to Monster Hunter: World after I had taken a break from streaming Hyperdimension Neptunia Re’Birth3 to have dinner and just have a break in general, then started streaming Monster Hunter to end off for the night.

I’ve owned Monster Hunter: World for PS4 for a while, I played a lot of it when it arrived but ended up taking a break from it for a while due to playing a lot of other games, mainly on stream, and because I couldn’t tackle my console games on stream at the time.

However, tackling it last night was a really fun time, I had a viewer from Canada jump on stream who joined me in game to tackle some of the harder quests I needed to grind out for materials, and I made quite a bit of new gear, upgraded a few weapons and made some new armour, before making some more story progress.

I’m now in a spot where the next stream of Monster Hunter: World will be a lot of story progress, as well as possibly more grinding as I’ve unlocked some new tiers of armour now, so I’ll most likely need help from people online for that again.

Monday: April 23rd, 2018

Today was a game of no gaming. I got held back at work a bit due to circumstances out of my control, and by the time I got home, I really didn’t feel like trying to set up my stream for the night, especially considering if I did, the stream would’ve been less than 3 hours long, and I’m aiming to have my streams go for 3 hours minimum.

The original plan was to tackle some Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 on stream, but when I knew I was gonna be late, I was gonna do some Final Fantasy XIV instead, but then I realized just how late I was going to be getting home, and postponed stream altogether.

Here’s hoping today ends up being a better day.

Tuesday: April 24th, 2018

Today as alright for work, especially after finding out we have Wednesday off, so I planned on streaming for at least a bit tonight! Started off with some Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation!

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation (PSVita, PC):

I made quite a bit of story progress on Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 tonight, cleared out the current story arc and started working on grinding out some of the side quests and item plans I still haven’t made, aiming to have a fair few of them done soon!

Alongside all of that, I also unlocked the Colosseum which doesn’t have much for now, but as I progress further into the story, I know more fights are gonna unlock in there.

Final Fantasy XIV: Online (PC, PS4):

After a few hours of Hyperdimension Neptunia, I switched over to a little bit of Final Fantasy XIV, as my Twitch chat mod Taka was online at the time and needed some assistance with grinding out some of his story and class quests, so we played a little bit of that casually on stream for about half an hour, nothing too major happened.

Fortnite: Battle Royale (PC, PS4, Xbone, iOS):

After we had our casual fun on Final Fantasy, my other Twitch chat mod Dutchy jumped online, and he wasn’t up for too much longer, so we ended up switching to Fortnite for a bit to finish the night off, didn’t make it too far into any of these games, but we dropped Tilted Towers every time and managed to at least get a few kills in before we kicked the bucket.

Wednesday: April 25th, 2018

Day off from work, you know what that means?

Yep, streaming most of the day, that was my plan, and I was gonna stick to it.

Monster Hunter: World (PS4/XBone):

We grinded out a couple hours of Monster Hunter: World, did a few of the High Rank hunts got a few hints at what the next “big boss” of the story is going to be.

I am severely under-geared for the rest of High Rank however, so I’ll need to spend the next few Monster Hunter streams grinding out materials to slowly gear myself up for proper hunting.

Persona 5 (PS4):

This game. This game got a lot of hype when it released, and it’s been out for quite some time from what I’ve noticed, but it honestly deserves every bit of hype it gets.

I haven’t really experienced much of the Persona series before this one, I played a couple of hours of Persona 3 while at a friend’s house once and that was it, but I enjoyed it then.

This game, developed by Atlus, is an amazing JRPG, and one that doesn’t follow the generic JRPG storylines or settings. Whereas most JRPGs are usually set in a fantasy-esque settings, Persona 5 (And I assume the other Persona games in general) are in settings that are based on modern day Japan, and I honestly love that change.

I ended up playing this for 5 and a half hours straight during this stream session, and it didn’t feel like it had been that long at all, the time flew by so fast that I didn’t realize it was 7 PM by the time I ended stream off for the night.

You can guarantee I’m playing more of this in the future, no way am I just going to leave it be!

Thursday: April 26th, 2018

I was originally not looking forward to going back to work today, but it was honestly a really cruisy, slow and easy day today, which surprised me because Thursday is usually one of the busier days for me.

But aside from that, I had gotten home in a decent mood, and felt like streaming some more, so let’s get right into it!

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3 V Generation (PSVita, PC):

You guessed it, we progressed some more in Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth3!

We cleared out 2 whole chapters in tonight’s stream! Even after the first hour was basically all grinding out sidequests and a few item plans, so to make this much progress and uncover more of the story was great!

I feel like I’ll be hitting end game territory with this game soon, so while I am enjoying this game very much, I am definitely looking forward to smashing out the ending and picking up a new game to play very soon!

Friday: April 27th, 2018

Thank everything that it’s Friday! I got home from work and immediately got to setting up to stream a late one for the night, let’s see how that went!

Final Fantasy XIV: Online (PC, PS4):

Made a good bit of progress on the story tonight! Smashed out the first 3 story dungeons and slowly started making my way towards the first trial!

Didn’t progress much after the 3rd dungeon though, as I had decided to start levelling up my Rogue class instead and bumped that up to level 15!

Saturday: April 28th, 2018

Today was a super chill today, just did a lot of relaxing, and went out to do a bit of game shopping, picked up Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 and Dragon Quest Heroes II for the PS4!

Ended up doing a night stream tonight, just because I wasn’t home until after dinner time, so let’s see how that went!

Final Fantasy XIV: Online (PC, PS4):

I ended up playing some more Final Fantasy XIV, got Whipflash back on to get some progress going for him, as we smashed out the first 2 story dungeons for him, and then he had to go for a break so I focused on levelling up my Conjurer a bit, which has now hit level 30 and gotten the upgrade to White Mage!

End of Week 4

Thanks for reading my weekly recap of gaming! I’m going to be changing the format of these recaps for the future to make it a bit easier to read, and also easier to write on my end.

If you have suggestions of games for me to try, feel free to contact me, either via the Contact Me page, or via my Twitter: @FaithDragonYT.

I’ll catch you all next time!
